Milo was born at Alderly in Ashippun township near Oconomowoc, WI. He began studies at Lawrence College in Appleton, WI in 1917, but these were interrupted by World War I. He worked the family farm while his brother Harvey served in the military. He returned to Lawrence in 1919 to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree. He was one of the founders of the Phi Kappa Tau chapter at Lawrence.

He attended the Cook County graduate college in Chicago. He taught and was principal at the high school in Neshkoro, WI from 1923 to 1926. He studied at Milwaukee's Marquette Medical School from 1926 to 1930, interned at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton, and received his medical degree in 1931. He was consulting physician and surgeon for the Wisconsin Michigan Power Company for the rest of his life.

Florence was born in Stockbridge, WI. She graduated from Waupaca High School in 1920, Lawrence College in 1923, and Oshkosh Normal in 1924; and attended the University of Chicago. She taught junior high school in Kenosha, WI from September 1924 to June 1932. She met Milo at Lawrence in 1921 and married him in Crown Point, IN.

In 1933, Milo and Florence were living at 307 N. Division Street in Appleton. By 1940, they were living at 40 River Drive on the Fox River.

Milo was one of three founders of Appleton's Medical Arts Clinic in 1954. He served on the staff of St. Elizabeth and Appleton Memorial hospitals, and served as president of the medical staff at St. Elizabeth. He also belonged to the American Medical and Outagamie County Medical associations, serving as president of the latter. He traveled to Russia in 1961 with a farmers' group.

Florence died after a nine-year illness. Milo built a new home on the north shore of Lake Winnebago in 1964, but died of a heart attack in Neshkoro after living there less than a year.
